Rt. Wor. Bro. William (Bill) Charles Hall, PJGW, an affiliated Past Master with Lodge Lake Macquarie, No. 243 reached a couple of milestones during the course of 2012. He not only celebrated his 100th birthday but he also celebrated the anniversary of 80 years since his initiation into freemasonry.

Rt. Wor. Bro. Hall was initiated into freemasonry on July 5, 1932 at Lodge Abermain No. 642 in the northern coalfields town of Weston. He was installed into the chair of that lodge on the first occasion in 1939 and then went on to occupy the chair on two further occasions. He affiliated with Lodge Fidelity No. 163 at Newcastle and when Lodge Abermain relinquished its charter he affiliated with Lodge Caledonia No. 447 at Cessnock. From Lodge Fidelity he was appointed DGIW of No. 41 District for the term 1980-82. When Lodge Caledonia consolidated with Lodge Cessnock he affiliated with Lodge Lake Macquarie No. 243 where he remains a very active and enthusiastic member.
Rt. Wor. Bro. Hall also occupied the respective chairs of Kurri Kurri RA Chapter No. 75 and Kurri Kurri Manning Mark No. 38. He was also a member of Ark Mariners.
To mark his 80th year in freemasonry, on March 10, 2012 he was accorded the honour of representing the Most Wor. Grand Master at the re-installation of Wor. Bro. John Clark. He was accompanied by a fine delegation of thirty-one present and past Grand Lodge officers. It was a very special moment for Rt. Wor. Bro. Hall and the members of Lodge Lake Macquarie.
On November 30, 2012 Rt. Wor Hall celebrated his 100th birthday with a group of about seventy family and friends at the Silver Dolphin Restaurant Cardiff.
Wor. Bro John Clark, Worshipful Master of Lodge Lake Macquarie presented Rt. Wor. Bro. Hall with his 80 year certificate at the Installation meeting held on 9th March, 2013, where Right Wor. Bro. Hall was formally congratulated on his Masonic achievements.
